I have now collected all the information required by UWB Financial Aid in order to receive my aid. In addition to the normal forms (verification worksheet, signed copies of both party's tax form) they also wanted W-2s or equivalent. For my parents, they meant they had to find their 1099 document. Seriously, what a pain in the ass, but at least this will be the last year I have to use their information.
In addition to dropping off the paperwork, my father also brought along a 17" NEC flat panel monitor. A few weeks ago I had expressed interest in it because I've been looking to install a second monitor to make referencing other pages/documents easier. Save for one dead pixel near the top of the screen the monitor is working pretty well.
I started watching Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu from where I left off when I was last watching it about a year ago. I was only able to watch two episodes before I came to a corrupted file. Seriously, burning data to a disc always results in this. So at the moment, I'm torrenting the entire series again. It'll hopefully be complete in a few hours.
Fuuucckk. I missed out on going with David to Index for happy drowning tiem. |

I sold a live lobster today at work. God damnit I'm so sad: I sentenced a cute, fluffy lobster to a horrible boiling fate. |

So I met this woman last night. She was having a bad three days. It turns out the Edmonds police frown upon public urination (especially in plain sight on the pedestrian walkway at the ferry terminal) so she was arrested and kept off her anxiety pills while she was incarcerated. I guess they didn't believe the pills were really anxiety pills, but they still kept her confined to her room for the duration of those three days.
Yeah, bad three days indeed. |

Xenogears came in the mail today! After Contact, this will probably be the game that will eat up my time over the summer.
EDIT: Well, I beat Contact (a mere two and half hours after I posted this) and now I have two choices: either drop it and move onto Xenogears or replay it in an attempt to stat-max and acquire every item. Both options are appealing to me. |

| Party at David's Place! |
[Jun. 22nd, 2008|12:01 am] |
In order of appearance: -Justin -Dusty -Shane & Nick -David -Jake
The night came to a close around 04:00 when the police arrive. I guess David's neighbors frown upon belligerent drunks and Rock Band turned up to 11 at that time in the morning. That and there was the whole underaged drinking thing too...
Shaggy walked to Tom Thumb without his shirt looking to fight some cops. Earlier in the night, David had drenched Shaggy's shirt with alcohol which prompted him to remove it so it could dry. Personally, I think he should've worn his odoriferous t-shirt while fighting cops because at least then he'd have a decent alibi.
By the time Sarah and I went to sleep all the good sleeping spots had been taken. In the end, we slept under the pool table to which I must say for a new house that place has really hard floors. |

| Over the Last 12 Days... |
[Jun. 19th, 2008|02:48 pm] |
Last night booze was consumed. I drank root beer from the tap. I was delightfully sober.
JD moved in and became our new temporary couch troll. All his stuff has become our new living room carpet ornaments. Much hilarity has ensued.
I purchased Contact for my DS last week. I could probably finish it with a few more hours of gameplay, but I'm trying to level up Mr. Cuisine and Fisher King first for some reason. Mr. Cuisine is at an effective level 47 and Fisher King is at a dismal effective level 7.
BIT 143: 4.0
When I calculated my expected grade before the quarter ended, it was between 3.6 and 3.8 so it's interesting I received a 4.0. However, I have developed a few possibilities. 1) I completely aced the final including the extra credit points giving me a total score of 156 2) I miscalculated the total number of possible points for the class to be 920 instead of 900 which skewed the results (though I was pretty sure I took this into account) 3) Mike thought I earned it and rounded I'm going to contact Mike next week and ask how well I performed on the final. With any luck, he'll be on campus next week and I can get it from him, but I doubt it.
Also, the equalizer I purchased from the Goodwill on Tuesday works. I hooked it up last night to test it and it operated just fine. I now have it hooked into the setup on my computer.
The N64, however, well...I still need to test that. JD has controllers and games he can get me to so I can play-test the machine. Then again, it's a Nintendo product so it'll probably work just fine. |

Mike decided to cut the final PCE of the quarter which is totally awesome because as things stand now, I don't even know if I'll be able to turn in the PCE10 (it's complete, but the accounts on Mike's Student Tracker have been deleted). This means the only assignment I have remaining for the quarter is A4.1 which will hopefully be in the bag by sometime early Friday.
In total, this is what this quarter has entailed:
- PCE 01
- PCE 02
- PCE 03
- PCE 04
- PCE 05
- PCE 06
- PCE 07
- PCE 08
- PCE 09
- PCE 10
PCE 11
- Assignment A1.0
- Assignment A1.1 100/100
- Assignment A2.0
- Assignment A2.1 92/100
- Assignment A3.0
- Assignment A3.1 92/100
- Assignment A4.0
- Assignment A4.1 (In Progress)
Also, in order to maintain a 4.0 in BIT 143 I can't miss more than 53 points for the entire quarter. Thus far, I've missed about 40 so I'm still in the running as long as I score a perfect grade on my final and on the last assignment.
In other news, I think Tuesday was (or will be, I guess) my last day at RadioShack or, at least, that's what Lori said. I guess Greg the DM told her I wasn't helping her or the store and I haven't been pulling my weight over the last three months. Not being helpful, eh? I thought providing product knowledge to other customers (and fellow co-workers), performing store deposits, and opening/closing the store were important activities. All those are mere moot points if there are no cellphones being sold, it would seem.
In block related things, Ray asked me if I wanted the recently-vacated Block Captain position. I've been waiting for him to ask me this so I could give him my catch-all canned speech about being responsible for things that are outside of my control. If working the block counter was my life goal then I may consider the position, but I have no intention of working there forever. Much like Tyler and Jotesh, working the block is filling in that gap between post-K-12 education and a Bachelor's.
Yours Truly was released today. I had two of my poems published, but no photos this year. Not even Clamor published any of my photos. I guess I'll have to get out there and really make my Digimax shine this year. |
